The Tech Year in Review: Looking Forward and Back

2019 has been an interesting year for technology, which I'm starting to feel like I hear at the end of every year. It's no secret the technology industry as a whole is ever-expanding and as it becomes more accessible for people of all different backgrounds the additions they bring to the table become more and more exciting

Personally I am very interested in what Microsoft has brought to the table this year, as the Operating system used most widely in all manner of industries it's always good to keep your eye on where they are heading, as it will have the most wide reaching effect

The two big ideas I feel are going to have a big impact are the Developments in Microsoft Edge and the fantastic work Miscrosoft are doing for the world of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Looking first to Edge Microsoft have announced they are moving over to using Google's open source Chromium Rendering Engine, which for those of you who aren't fluent in techno-babble means we might be finally getting a Microsoft browser that can technically compete with the likes of Google Chrome and Mozilla's Firefox. The benefits to this are strong and stable websites will now be able to leverage the integration with Microsoft desktop operating systems, giving you more control and options when it comes to delivering excellent service to your clients

Moving over to the world of Machine Learning, Microsoft have also announced Ink Recogniser which will allow you to take any form of written information and process it for storage in your digital systems, hopefully bringing us closer to a completely paper free world

While this may be interesting to a lot of people there will be people who don't quite get the excitement. This doesn't mean they should be left behind! If you believe your software solution could be getting long in the tooth get in touch and our Software Integrations team will be more than happy to take a look and see if there are any new technologies you(and your customers) might be able to benefit from!
